Exactly one month since i blogged. And yup, i'm blogging from camp once again. Partly because i'm so free in camp, and also because i cant enter my blogsite from my home computer. Haha!
Let me zoom in straight to the food. After the previous Victors' with wonderful Dim Sum, we went to this Raman place at Central, which totally sucked!! The big hoo-ha about self-made ramen.. haizz. So after the horrendous eating experience, we proceeded on to TCC to try their desserts. Tried the Tiramisu and the Bread Pudding. Both are very well presented, and the taste is reasonable too. But of course, the price's a bit steep.
On 2nd of June, we went to Marche. Got some Snail sausage with mash potato, the salmon rosti, mushroom and cheese crepe, strawberry cake, apple cake, and their hot cross bun. Salmon rosti.. fantastic! Afterall, rosti's their specialty. The snail sausage thing was average, but their mash potato is rather good. And for the mushroom and chesse crepe... what can go wrong with mushroom and cheese tgt? Haha! The cakes were tasty. And the bread was.. I can have it for every breakfast!
Ma Maison on 5th June. At Cathay. Ordered the Seafood platter thing, and their famous minced beef and pork burger. The seafood platter, with the price attached, is at best average. Only the rice was nice la! The seafood was grilled a little too dry. But i liked the burger thingy. Although she thought it was just average. After we finished, we went to Gobi again! And bought 18 of them. I took 10 back to camp and ate it for my meals the next day. Heavens! The strawberry one... ooooohhhh.. Haha!
I cant say the dates for the next 2 places, because of some reasons =D. Anyway, on a monday, we tried Cedele at Raffles Place. To me, haha.. ok la. So-so only. But it's organic and healthy stuff though. Got the rosemary chicken sandwich, and the tofu chicken sandwich. For cakes, the espresso chocolate and blue-berry cheesecake. Frankly, i rate the whole thing as 6/10. I'll risking my life saying tt. Haha! On the very same day, i took Vid and Jun to Ms Clarity Cafe. I think the foo dhas improved. Jun's Garlic Crusted Dory was licked clean, Vid's chicken in his burger was thicker den the bread, and my Chicken Ballotine is crispy, tasty and just great! Haha!
On the Tuesday, Wasabi Tei at Far East Plaza. Ok, this is FANTASTIC!!!! Ordered the Sashimi platter, beef rice thingy, Chawan Mushi, California Roll, and the Unagi. Everything from the weird looking appetizer from the start impressed until the sweet cold watermelon at the end. Absolutely fastastic food. We were both stuffed at the end, and the price was only $62 for 2. For that price, the food is absolutely fantastic. Haha! It's better than Ichiban Boshi or Sakae Sushi. I will definitely go back there again!
Yup, this is the end of the food stuff. I might convert this to a part food blog. See wad tingyi says la.
Next an update on my life. I've joined LFI as an independent distributor selling health products. Erm.. Not really interesting, and i dun wish to elaborate more.
Now Msia trip! Oohh... haha!
Day 1.I WAS LATE!!!! My handphone SIM Card juz failed on me, and so, my handphone alarm did not work. Jun Vid and Vin cant contact me. Luckily i woke up just in time to grab all my stuff and rush down on a cab. While waiting for the cab, how unlucky can i get? 15min and no cab at all! Until i crossed over to the other side that i finally got a cab. Fortunately, the uncle was speeding like no one's business and i managed to reach the place to board the bus at 0700 sharp. Haizzz.. Ok, after tt, we just took our stuff and slept throughout the ride. First stop point, and we bought tidbits and snacks. After that, all the way to Genting!
I was being scolded all the way up there. Why? Because our bus was crawling slowly up the slopes while we see other buses zooming past us! The only consolation was that another bus broke down and the passengers had to unload and wait by the road side!
The bus topped at Hotel First World. We went in, and had Kenny Roger's as our first meal. Msia Kenny Rogers is FAR from Singapore's. The baked rice is so tasteless la! Grrr.. waste of time and money. After eating, we checked into our Genting Hotel, followed by getting the Unlimited Indoor Theme Park Tickets. We played almost every "Free" game available, particularly the bumper car and indoor roller coaster. We played all the way until dinner time, and we had dinner at this Italian Torcello's buffet restaurant. Food was every average. Dessert was average, and costs S$20. Not worth it. Bad food. We continued to play the games after dinner until about 11plus, when the other 3 bought Baskin Robbin's ice cream and we adjourned to our rooms for the day.
Day 2We woke up and went to this Chinese restaurant "Hao You Ji" to have Dim Sum. Overall the dim sum was disappointing.. uncomparable to Victor's. Perhaps only their porridge was good. After breakfast, ourdoor theme park, here we come! We bought the unlimited all day Outdoor and Indoor Theme Park ticket.
We discovered the timid side of Jun. He skipped most of the thrill rides la. We took 2 photos! but i cant upload them now cuz i'm in camp =(. The most memorable one was the space shot. Frankly, it was my first time trying all the games there. Haha! My dream of 2 yrs (that is to go genting with friends) finally came true! The thrill, screaming and enjoyment! Awwww... Haha!
We stopped for lunch at Happy Valley restaurant. Once again, the food is just slightly above average. The best food was probably some ostrich meat fried in some bbq sauce. But it wasnt fantastic either.
After lunch, we returned to our rooms to rest for awhile before continuing with the games. Until dinner, which we had at the Hainan Restaurant. The special hainan porkchop we all had except jun was BAD. Grrr.. all genting food is bad la! Ok, after dinner, we alternated between the bumper car and the indoor roller coaster. We met these 2 malaysian chinese girls while bumper-caring as we kept on targeting them. We introduced each other whiel queuing for the roller coaster. And guess who they first spoke to? Jun! And of all ppl, jun! He's like the best in communication among us or...
Anyway, spent the night tgt with them. Hmm.. this sounds wrong. Ok, we played those 2 stations until about 12, before we went back to out rooms. They came to our lobby to meet us at about 2am and we walked to this place in Genting which oversaw KL. Quite a nice sight. The night sky with the stars were pretty. Yup.. They brought us for some prata at this weird place which i have never seen before. Oh, btw, they used to work at Genting for some time, so they knew the place pretty well. The rest of the night was spent in our room playing card games. INNOCENT card games.. which a video of was taken on Vid's phone. They left our rooms at about 6 in the morning, and that's the end of 2 new friends. We exchanged numbers though. And they are 18 btw..
Day 3We slept until about 10, before we checked out and headed down to KL. Federal Hotel. Fantastic lobby, but rooms were small, had faulty aircons, and the water turned yellow in the flask. I think this says it all. We put our stuff down, and headed down to One Utama Shopping Centre. Really Huge place. And of all stuff, we had this Japanese thing, but sucked as well! I ate like 20% of my whole set. But shopping was good. Bought some stuff there, and also had the waffles from A & W. At around 8, we took a cab down to Petaling Street and bought more stuff there. And i experience being cheated by Indians! Grrrr!! We went back to our hotel after that, and went for supper at the Noodle House opp our Hotel. Reasonable food, but i suppose it is because of the high MSG content! And this is it for the day!
Day 4We woke up at about 0900, and had breakfast at the hotel's coffee house. Pretty standard hotel breakfast. But jun would kbkb that they did not replenish the scrambled eggs which he so craved for.
We took the bus to Sunway Lagoon and played the water games there! Quite fun.. but the climbing up sucked. We also tried the dry park. And after 2 tried at this pirate ship which goes 360degrees, i gt nauseous. I guess it's because of the heavy breakfast i had juz to skip lunch. After the whole day there, we bought Dunkin Doughnuts and i had it for the first time in my life. Pretty good donuts!!! We headed to Bangsar Village after tt and ended up at this Shanghai food place. I ordered all their specialities and it still was bad. At best average.
Day 5Woke up at 0900 too. Breakfast and shopping ALL the way. Sungnei Wang, Bk Bintang Plaza etc.. Shop and shop and shop. I skipped lunch too. And we went to KLCC for Manhattan for dinner. I ordered their specialities as usual, and it was quite reasonable. And i mass buy 3 boxes of Dunkin Donuts back to Singapore!! In total, i bought 10 tops, 1 jeans, 6 shoes (only 2 are mine la!), 2 balls, 2 socks. Pretty much tt's all. I'm happy with wad i bought. Spent about $1100 in all, including the tour package..
This is the end of Msia trip. Cant wait for another trip with everyone else! Like i said before, when were are all in our 20s, i hope to go on a trip with EVERYONE else.. tt includes the girls too!
